VENIEGAS, MARVIN B., 2023 "Performance of Eggplant as Influenced by

Different Types of Pruning" Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, Sultan Kudarat
State University, College of Agribusiness, Bagumbayan Campus, Bagumbayan
Sultan Kudarat.
Adviser: HENRISA P. APARIS, MAST

The study aimed to determine the performance of eggplant using different types
of pruning in terms of plant height, length of fruits, number of fruits and weight of
fruits, yield performance of eggplant, and financial analysis. The study was
carried out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four treatments
and replicated three times. The treatments of the study were the following: no
pruning (T₁), heading (T2), pinching (T3), thinning (T4). The results showed
theres a significant at 1% level was observed in terms of plant height and number
of fruits, and significant at 5% level was observed in terms of length of fruits and
weight of fruits. Different types of pruning shows a better growth performance
and high return on investment in eggplant production. Furthermore, pruning is
highly recommended to try it to other crops.
