Guidelines to be fo.

llowed while preparins the DPR under RR&R scheme

Vision & Aims:

To store more water towards irrigation supplementation.

Water should reach to the tail end of canal.

Guidelines

A) Related to Earth Work

Earth work de-silting incase of tank and small reservoir (Other than Large
Dam) above D.S.L i.e.

1. Existing hilhlands creating obstructions of storage.

2. Due to accumulation of silt collected from catchment area on account ol
sedimentation.

Case of consideration:-

o Earthwork area beyond 10H measured from upstream toe of Dam. (H=
Height of Dam in meter)
o The depth of consideration towards de-silting may be allowed in the

excavated zone to a level above DSL. In specific condition i.e. dry zone.

small water spread area and provision of recharge well, excavation can be

done 0.5m to 0.6m below D.S.L.

This must be indicated in the village map area of the tank or reservoir.

Disposal area near the project as per the approval of revenue authority/PP
must be shown in the village map with land schedule.

Excavated earth for reservoir must be tested for its use in the re-sectioning
of the Dam i.e. after conformation of suitability of soil for used in
embankment.
o Without ensuring the characteristics of excavated earth (laboratory test
report) cannot be allowed in the estimate for re-sectioning of earth dam as

well as the afflux or Guide Bank.
