Ensure that equipment racks are level and properly bolted down
Ensure that equipment racks are clean and dust free. Clean as necessary
Ensure that all covers are in place and properly secured

Power Frame & Controller


Visual inspection of power frame(s) and controller unit(s)
Check controller visual alarm indicators for any current alarms
Review alarm log. Record and reset alarms found. Clear alarm log
Record voltage and current readings

Power Modules
Visual inspection of installed power modules for alarms. Record if found
Reset any modules with alarms as specified by manufacturer. Replace if necessary
Record number of power slots available, number in use and spare positions

Load Audit
Open Load Distribution Center
Record available number of distribution positions, in use and spare
Record breaker size, cable size and breaker position of positions in use
Ensure proper lug is used ( single, double ) and bolts are properly tightened

BATTERIES
General
Ensure that battery racks are level and properly bolted down
Ensure that battery racks are clean and dust free. Clean as necessary
Ensure that all covers are in place and properly secured
Cells
Individually inspect each battery for heat buildup, swelling, leakeage, venting
Individually inspect each battery post for intergrity
Individually inspect each battery post for proper torqueing. Retorque if necessary
Manually inspect battery interconnects for heat buildup
Record voltage, temperature and internal resistance / conductance for each battery

Load test
Record battery voltage across each battery string
Fail AC supply
Record battery voltage across each battery string
With AC supply off repeat voltage readings across each string every 10 mins for 1 hour
Restore AC supply
Record load current and system voltage upon AC supply return
Wait until load current drops back to pre load test value. Record time
Ensure that all loads are on line and back to normal
Ensure there aren't any alarms present. Address if found

5. Veirfy correct time & date setting on ATS √
5. Ensure that all load circuits are closed and all equipment is functioning normally √

Main Ground Grid
Open Handhole
Inspect handhole, metal brackets, insulators, bus bar(s), ground cables, nuts & bolts
Replace, repair or maintain damaged/ faulty material as necessary
Disconnect cables from bus bar, polish bus bar, and apply No-Oxide grease. Reinstall bus bars
Check cables for proper crimping and reconnect to ground bar. Ensure adequate torque
Ensure cables are properly labelled. Relabel as necessary

Equipment Ground Bar ( EGB )


Inspect metal brackets, insulators, bus bar(s), ground cables, nuts & bolts
Replace, repair or maintain damaged/ faulty material as necessary
Disconnect cables from bus bar, polish bus bar, and apply No-Oxide grease. Reinstall bus bars
Check cables for proper crimping and reconnect to ground bar. Ensure adequate torque
Ensure cables are properly labelled on both ends i.e. bus bar and eqpt. Relabel as necessary

Equipment Frame Grounds


Inspect all equipment frames and cabinets to ensure they are grounded
Inspect all frame grounds to ensure cable integrity and proper installation
Install frame ground for any equipment not grounded. Record any new grounds installed
Remove any frame grounds found for equipment removed. Record grounds removed
Ensure that where installed, DC power plant positive bus is grounded to MGB with 2/0 cable
Ensure that all frame grounds are properly labelled on both ends. Relabel as necessary
Inspect all internal cable trays to ensure that they are daisy chained and referenced to the EGB
Inspect grounding halo inside equipment room for cable integrity and proper installation

Tower Ground
Inspect tower leg grounds to ensure cable integrity and proper installation
Inspect grounding plates and nuts & bolts. Service, repair or replace as necessary
Inspect equipment ground cable running up the tower for cable integrity and proper installation
Inspect lightning arrestor ground cable for cable cable integrity and proper installation
