To whom it may concern

I want to inform you that I am not able to attend your class today due to a long-awaited
alumni homecoming night that will be happening today starting 6PM onwards. I chose
not to come to school for two reasons (1) the preparation for the said event; (2) I am the
coordinator of our batch. This will be our first grand alumni homecoming and I don’t
want to miss it.

I hope you understand why attending this event is important to me.
