Ask the students about the video.
INTRODUCTION 1. Greet the students and introduce the topic of responsibilities and rights of a child.
2. Begin by asking students what they think the words "responsibilities" and "rights" mean.
Write their responses on the whiteboard or chart paper.
LESSON PROPER 1. Explain that every person, including children, has certain responsibilities and rights.
2. Discuss responsibilities: Write the word "responsibilities" on the board and define it as tasks
or duties that a person is expected to complete. Provide examples of responsibilities that
children may have, such as cleaning their room, doing homework, listening to their parents or
teachers, and taking care of their belongings.
3. Discuss rights: Write the word "rights" on the board and define it as things that a person is
allowed to have or do. Provide examples of rights that children have, such as the right to
education, the right to be safe, the right to play, and the right to express their opinions.
4.. Engage the students by asking them to think of additional examples of responsibilities and
rights for children. Write their responses on the board.
5. Discuss the importance of fulfilling responsibilities and respecting rights, emphasizing that
responsibilities and rights go hand in hand. For example, if children have the right to play, they
also have the responsibility to clean up after themselves and take care of shared play areas.
ACTIVITY 1. Divide the students into pairs or small groups.
2. Distribute a handout with scenarios related to responsibilities and rights of children
(optional). Alternatively, you can have students create their own scenarios during a group
discussion.
3. Instruct students to read the scenarios and discuss amongst themselves whether the
characters in the scenarios are fulfilling their responsibilities and respecting their rights.
Encourage them to provide reasons for their answers.
4. After a designated amount of time, have groups share their conclusions with the whole class
and facilitate a brief discussion on the outcomes.
CONCLUSION 1. Recap the main points discussed in the lesson, emphasizing that responsibilities and rights
are equally important for children.
2. Summarize the key responsibilities and rights of children discussed in the lesson.
3. Conclude by asking students if they have any questions or comments related to the topic.
ASSESSMENT - While observing the group discussions and whole-class discussion, assess students'
understanding of the concept of responsibilities and rights, as well as their ability to identify
examples of these in different situations.
- Collect the handout with scenarios and review students' responses to evaluate their
application of the concept.
