make sure that a person is eating healthy or eating in general, we do need to show people the
health effects and consequences of what happens when we support obesity and allow people to
think that being obese is a good thing.

Reflection:

1. Make connections between what you studied in this nutrition course with what
you’ve learned in other courses at SLCC or before.

o
       Make specific references to your work in this class and
in the other courses.
       How did what you learn in the other courses enhance
what you learned in nutrition, and vice versa?

Answer: based on the two assignments we did in this class, the $10 food challenge and the
Nutritional perspective paper, I learned a lot more about this class as well as nutrition than I
expected going into this class. The food challenge was an interesting assignment, mainly just
because of challenging it was to try to get so much food within that budget.
This class taught me a lot, and with the knowledge that I learned I plan to continue to use it in the
future.
2.  Reflect on how you thought about nutrition before you took this course and how you
think about it now that the course is over.

o
       Have any of your assumptions or understandings
changed?
       Why?
        What assignments/activities/readings were influential
in this process?
        How will you approach (course topic) differently in the
future?

Answer: My assumptions have changed drastically, mainly from the assignments we did in the
class, this helped me better understand. I plan to check labels more for ingredients and be more
careful and make a budget for food.
