OBSERVATION LESSON PLAN IN KINDERGARTEN


Integrated with Science, Language and Values
3RD QUARTER-WEEK 8

I. Objectives:

A. Content Standard: The child demonstrates an understanding the concept of land transportation, its
importance and uses.
B. Performance Standard: The child shall be able to show enthusiasm during the discussion and
participate actively in group and individual activities.
C. Learning Competencies: Identify different land transportation vehicles.
(KMKPKom-00-2)

 Values: Keeping ourselves safe when riding any land transport vehicle and following road
safety precautions.

II. Content:
A. Subject Matter: Land Transportation
Precautions and Safety Measures in Travelling by Land Transport
B. Reference: Kindergarten Curriculum Teacher’s Guide, MELCs

C. Other Learning Resources: Concrete objects such as (toy vehicles) activity charts/tarpapel,
flashcards, power point presentation/video presentation and television

 Science Processes: Identifying, Classifying

III. Procedure:
A. Elicitation
1. Greetings
2. Energizer(Song): The Wheels on the Bus
B. Engagement
1. Guide Questions: Ask the learners the following;
a. Who among you rode on a vehicle when you go to school?
b. What vehicle do you usually ride?
c. On the song we sang earlier, what vehicle was mentioned? Have you seen or rode on a
bus before?
2. Discovery: “What’s in the Box?”
Call on some learners to pick a picture inside the mystery box. Have these learners identify
the name of the vehicle he/she got. Let each learner tell the corresponding sound of the
letter written on each picture.

3. Have the learners watch and listen to a video presentation discussing road safety
precautions.

4. Ask them what will happen if we do not obey road rules?

C. Exploration: Present the video lesson to the learners. Let them identify the different land
vehicles. As they name each vehicle, ask the learners to tell the first letter on each vehicle’s
name.

1. Ask the following questions:

a. What are the vehicles you see in the video?


b. Where do these vehicles can be used?
c. Which among these vehicles can move fast?
d. Which among these vehicles were slow?

2. Divide the class into 3 groups.

3. Introduce and give the directions for the activity


Group I-Find Me!
Direction: Encircle the land vehicles in the pictures.

Group II- Sort It Out!


Direction: Draw a box on the fast vehicles and cross out slow vehicles.

Group III-Lets’ Color It!


Direction: Color all land vehicles in the pictures.

D. Discussion:
1. Land Transportation
-It is the transport of people, animals, or goods from one place to another using land
vehicle such as trucks, buses, motorcycles, van, tricycle, etc. Land transportation is
used to travel faster.

E. Elaboration:
1. Generalization:
What are the different vehicles used in land transportation?

2. Why is it important to use such vehicles?

3. Application:
Do the activity: YES or NO Flashcards

Present pictures of different vehicles. Have the children say YES if it is an example of
Land Transportation and have them say NO if it is not.

Valuing:
-Why do we need to follow road rules again?

IV. Evaluation: Check On It!

Direction: Put a check (/) on the land vehicles.
