II. Subject- Matter : The Cell Theory


A. Science Ideas : Cell biology is the study of individual cells and their interactions with each other.
According to the different scientists involved in discovering the composition of all living things – we are
all made up of cells. Thus, cell theory or cell doctrine was created.

III. Learning Activities
A. Elicit
- Pictures of different organisms will be shown to the students.
- Ask the students the following question:
o What are these organisms made of? Elaborate your answer

B. Engage
- Show students a picture of Rudolf Virchow, Matthias Schleiden and Theodore Schwann.
- Ask the following questions:
o Can you identify the people shown in the picture? If yes, say their name.
o What were their contribution in the field of Science?
C. Explore
- Students will be group into 3 groups
- Each group will be given the postulate statement.
*Ask the student the following question:
1. Who is the proponent of the statement assigned to your group?
2. Explain each postulate made by the scientists above.
D. Explain
