Abstract
Identifying the problems that these grade 12 group leaders are encountering in complying
with their research requirements are vital for senior high school students as they
contribute to the wellness of the school, the academic performance of the group leaders,

being a critical thinker, how to balance the responsibilities as a student and a leader. In
this paper, the researchers determine the problems encountered by grade 12 group leaders
in complying with their research requirements when taken as a whole and when classified
according to their Gender. The Gender of the respondents/learners is considered an
independent variable in the study, while the problems encountered by grade 12 group
leaders in complying with their research requirements is considered as the dependent
variable. There was a total of 66 respondents. Research instrument was adopted from
Weinman (1977) Communicative Competence Scale. The results of the study shows that
the Grade 12 Group Leaders of Guimbal National High School is that balancing their
responsibilities as a Grade 12 student and a leader when taken as a whole. Lack of
responsibilty and concern from the members, presence of the members, lack of
cooperation among members, and choosing the right topic was considered by the
respondents as a problem to a great extent that these group leaders are encountering in
their research making. Furthermore, the results show in terms of gender that problem
encountered by grade 12 group leaders do not have a preferred gender. The study
concludes that there is no significant difference in Problem Encountered by Grade 12
Group Leaders in Complying with their Research Requirements when grouped according
to Gender.
