The impacts of Career Guidance to the Grade 12 students in

Choosing Exit Path

Research Questions:

This study aims to find out the Impact of Career

Guidance to the Grade 12 students of Boljoon National High School in

Choosing their Exit Paths

Specifically, the following are investigated:

1. What is the profile of the student/respondents according to:

A. Financial status

B. Age

C. skills

2. How does career guidance affect the choice of the students?

3. How can career guidance have the student in their career choice?

Introduction

g... ) explains that Career guidance is the guidance given to individual

to help them acquire the knowledge, information, skills and experience

necessary to identify career option and narrow them down to make

one career decision in Boljoon National High School Career guidance

help students (in developing their) in senior high evaluate their skills,

value, interest and personality trait to gain a better understanding of

themselves. Career guidance assist the students in developing their

skills on their chosen/preferred career preference. Career guidance is

a journey on which people/student develop their thinking to make

mature decision. It is the act of guidance or showing the students the

way, career guidance is the act of giving advice to help students

create a plan for personal growth.

Choosing a track for their career is the first step that a

student must take regarding to his/her path. In choosing their decision

will be affected in their personal interest, Family environment. Making

a correct exit path is one of the major decisions, that the senior high

students have to face for their academic and personal life. usually they

are the age of 16-17 in which undesirability is a common problem in

terms of choosing career. One of the main challenge of K-12 program

in the Philippine education is how it can give impact to the grade 12

students in deciding what exit path to choose. Career guidance

service is a assistance given to students in school in order to increase

the quality of the individual potentials. Everyone desires to have a

career that will perfectly suit their personality wherein they can use

their knowledge and skills to achieve their own Career Preference.

This study focuses on the impact of career guidance to

the grade 12 students of Boljoon National High School in choosing

their exit path. The problem encountered by the senior high student’s

in deciding what exit path to choose are affected on the decisions of

their parents (3) there are dependent to their friend. this study aims to

identify the problems and difficulties of the respondent’s in choosing

their path.

Significance of the Study

This study is significantly beneficial to the following

entities: students, teachers, parents, and the future researchers.

The students in Boljoon National High School can gain

knowledge through the findings of this study as to the impacts of

career guidance in their choice for exits. Teachers will benefit from the

result of this study, through this study will know if their career guidance

program is effective or not as well as parents can benefit from this

study as this makes their children decide what exit path to choose and

what opportunities they can get after graduating and lastly future

researcher can use the study as their guide when they will also

conduct a research.
