Science existed for over hundreds of years, humans evolved and continued to progress

and discover. In the prehistoric years where the concept of scientists and researchers hadn't
been developed, the early signs of science and innovation were paleolithic tools such as biface,
chopper and knife. The consumption of clay, bones and ceramics were also evident. Moreover,
the traces of utilization of fire was also a million years ago (Cohen, 2018). Most of the
discoveries in the prehistoric years such as fire had been used, improved and upgraded so that
they can be used for other things.

Moving on to the ancient times where the usage and smelting of metals are evident,
humans began to expand their knowledge more through inventing. The construction of water
supply, sewages, invention of matches, the first vernier calipers and so much more. Scientists,
philosophers, and mathematicians began to prosper and seek for more information about the
world. An example of a notable intellectual is Nicolaus Copernicus whereas he suggested the
theory of Heliocentrism, “Sun-Centered” system (Britannica, 2023). Up to this date, we still
believe that the sun is the center of the solar system and the planets in it orbits the sun.

In the modern days, different branches of science are used for a variety of purposes.
Natural sciences: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology that are mainly used for the study of the
nature of the physical world. In addition to this is the Social sciences such as Psychology and
Anthropology. Inventions such as the internet and the World Wide Web contributed greatly to
our daily lives, the use of the internet and gadgets make communicating so much easier.

Science is applied everywhere; it is used to discover and understand more about the
world. Imagine a world without Science and Technology, humans wouldn’t improve and we can’t
live a convenient life! Therefore, people must learn how things work and how we can improve
and innovate more in the future.
