I. Rationale:

Literacy and numeracy are important because they from the basis of our learning. They are
required to learn other skills, as well as for participation in everyday life. Literacy and
numeracy skills underpin workforce participation, productivity and the broader economy, and
can also impact on social and health outcomes.

We use the basic skills of literacy and numeracy in almost every part of our lives when we
communicate with each other – in traditional written forms or through the internet and digital
media-when we follow signs and instructions, when we are at our work or enjoying leisure
time, when we try to make sense of the mass.

II. Objective:

To improve the literacy and numeracy of intermediate learners.

III. Methodologies:

From the result of First Quarter Test in English and Mathematics found that very low in reading
comprehension and of course it also hard to comprehend in problem solving. This data gathered from
Gr 4 to Gr 6 or intermediate pupils. Out of 62 learners 19 or 32 % are still low in reading
comprehension and 15 or 24% are low performing in Mathematics..

Teacher, Parents and 19 learners
