    7th and 8th Grade Families,

    What we will be doing this week:


    ● 7th Grade:
    ○ Entry Work (mainly vocabulary)
    ○ We will start our novel, A Long Walk to Water
    ■ Our focus will be on annotating and class discussions about the
    book
    ■ We will be gaining background knowledge in water scarcity and
    Sudan
    ■ Students will determine the importance of water in their lives and
    how essential it is to have access to clean water
    ■ Culture and Identity

    ● 8th Grade:
    ○ Entry Work (mainly vocabulary)
    ○ We will continue our class novel Inside Out and Back Again
    ■ Our focus will be on engaging in collaborative discussions,
    clarifying the meaning of unknown words, and analyzing
