ASSIGNMENT 1

All Assignments can use Matlab by including the source code

1. Take an image (choose by yourself and the image size is 256 x 256 or 512 x
512), then do Fourier Transform & DCT.
a. Show the input and out of its transform (Magnitude and Phase).
b. Add the noise Gaussian with different its power.
c. Calculate its energy in space and frequency domain before and after noise
added.

2. Do the same thing as in problem 1 but for WHT and Wavelet Transform.

3. Given a 2D filter below, show the frequency response. Apply to a given Image
(you can choose any image) show input and output signal.
a. Find their Fourier transforms (2D DTFT)
b. Sketch the magnitudes of the Fourier transforms (You should sketch by
plot the DTFT as a function of u, when v=0 and when v=1/2; also as a
function of v, when u=0 or ½. Also please plot the DTFT as a function of
both u and v, using Matlab plotting function.
