ACTIVITY TITLE: Essay #4
REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
What is the importance of having set of values in our society?
Student’s Answer:

Values provide a moral framework that directs people's ideas and deeds within a

collective, serving as the foundational ethical principles of every functioning community. It

becomes essential for a society's cohesion and advancement to have a set of common

values in a world where variety in views and backgrounds is the norm. By bridging the

gaps between differing cultural, religious, and ideological viewpoints, these shared

principles promote tolerance and understanding. They act as a platform for people from

many backgrounds to come together, get over their differences, and work toward a

shared objective. When people from different backgrounds can unite around shared

principles, it fosters social peace and teamwork and ensures that a society is robust and

flexible in the face of difficulties.

Values in society are essential for fostering human growth. Values serve as a

moral compass, assisting people in deciding what is good and wrong, setting priorities for

their activities, and staying true to their views. Living in accordance with these principles

frequently leads to increased purpose and personal development while fostering a culture

that values qualities like honesty, integrity, and empathy. Additionally, common ideals are

essential for promoting social cohesiveness and togetherness. When a society as a

whole upholds a set of principles, it fosters a feeling of community and shared identity.
