What is the importance of having set of values in our society?

Student’s Answer:

Tony Hsieh once said, "Your core values define who you are." These values serve as our guiding path,
shaping our behavior, identity, actions, and even our objectives. The community and family we grew up in
may have influenced our ideals, reflected in our activities. As we grow up, these values can help us develop
and affect our decision-making and relationships with others that will lead us forward. It gives a foundation
for improved decision-making and fosters a sense of unity and stability. Our ethical behavior in society is
reflected in our values. It will determine the goals, objects, and people compatible with you.

Shared values aid in forming a better society comprised of well-mannered individuals. Filipino values are
the foundation for understanding what is good and wrong in Filipino society. It gives us a sense of purpose
and direction as we formulate long-term goals. Depending on the lifestyle and values followed in the
community, Philippine society is a melting pot of diverse ethnicities and civilizations. Various values are
practiced in the Philippines, including the "Utang na loob." It is a situation in which an individual must
repay a kindness or service received. However, the reciprocation of such service or favor cannot be
converted into monetary equivalent and may take a month or even a lifetime. Filipinos are recognized for
their hospitality, which is one of the Filipino qualities that our country values. The warm smile on each
Filipino's face is quite captivating. People from all across the world recognized and admired us. We can set
an example that if we want to see a change or instill ideals in others, we should start with ourselves, which
may make our country a better place to live.

In conclusion, developing a value system within society is vital due to its significant impact on ethical
behavior, long-term vision, and cultural understanding. An association with shared values is more likely to
succeed, overcome obstacles, and progress sustainably. It would enable our community to function and
find solutions to the various difficulties that our society is confronted with. As represented in the people
of the Philippines, the Philippines possesses good values and traits that people from other countries
admire. The legacy that our ancestors may leave is a good set of values, as it will be within you for a
lifetime. And can be passed to the future generation for the betterment of the Philippine society.
