REALIZATION, INSIGHT, AND LEARNINGS
What is the importance of having a set of values in our society?
Student’s Answer:

The moral principles that direct our behavior and views are referred to as values. They aid in
defining one's judgment of what is most significant in life. Values vary from person to person, and
the values that individuals hold close are what defines their character. This describes the
personal qualities they integrate to guide their actions and the kind of individual they aspire to
be.

Values play an important role in society, as they are said to be the basis of human beings
leading good and fulfilling life. Thus, the importance of values in society is immense. Values can
be contagious; if one practices them others will follow. In this case, if all the individual shares the
same set of values, they will be able to build a good culture and aid the betterment of society.
This makes people with the right set of values in life the backbone for the development of
society, that’s why societies should also give importance to instilling positive values in its
members. Additionally, a society with a shared good structure value also makes its member
easier to relate with each other, and if these values are implemented effectively society can
function efficiently. Lastly, values also bring positive common welfare this is because of proper
practice of values as they create a sense of respect between individuals.

To summarize, values are individual beliefs that influence and direct people to act in one
direction or another. Given that values are the basis of human beings in leading a better life, they
are an important part of society and need to be greatly embedded in its people. Members of
society must uphold the proper set of values for it to advance.
