First day of our On the Job Training (OJT) in Bureau of Fire Protection, Panay Fire

Station, on February 21 and 23, 2023. As I observed, the facilities of BFP Panay station is

very clean and the officials and staff are very intelligent and approachable. First day, the BFP

Personnel teach us the fire safety particularly on BFP Mission & Vision, Chemistry &

Behavior of Fire, Fire Safety Tips, Fire Suppression Techniques and different parts of fire

hose, hose throwing, and hose folding. Additionally, discussed the functions and duties of

Admin, Logistics, IIS, the functions of FSES, Finance, PIS, and BMWS. And after that

lecture, we perform proper hose throwing and proper hose folding. And in the afternoon, we

perform Zumba dance via zoom application together with the other BFP Municipal Station as

part of BFP Four Pillars of Health and Wellness Program.

Second day of our On the Job Training in the same fire station. The BFP Personnel conducted

lecture on fire fighting and demonstrated basic skills on donning and doffing of PPE with

SCBA, ladder carry, ropemanship, and first aid. After that lecture, we tried to wear their PPE

and I was amazed because even though it was heavy, they were able to wear it quickly when

there was an emergency or fire. Lastly, I just want to give my 100% snappy salute to all

Officials and Staff of BFP Panay Station, specially to their Municipal Acting Fire Marshall,

SFO2 JULIET B DELFIN, because she is very kind and Snappy.
