Quarter:Second Quarter
GRADE LEVEL STANDARDS: Most Essential Learning Competency:
The learner demonstrates communicative
competence through his/ her understanding Employ the appropriate communicative styles in
of British-American Literature, including various situations(intimate, casual,
Philippine Literature and other texts types consultative , ,frozen ,conversational)
for a deeper appreciation of Philippine
Culture and those of other countries.

I. Objectives: At the end of 60-minute period, 80% of the students should be able to:
a. identify speech styles in various context;
b. appreciate the importance of communicative style to real life ; and
c. create short conversations out of the given communication situations using
appropriate communicative style.

a. Topic: Communicative Styles (Intimate, Casual, and Consultative)
b. References: A Journey through Anglo-American Literature, 2014:pages 133-142
c. Materials: Power Point presentation, picture puzzle
d. Strategies: teacher-facilitator, visualization, , collaborative learning, differentiated
instruction

A. Preliminaries/Daily Routine

Let us start our day by asking grace and guidance

There are Five Types of Communicative Style but today we


will be dealing with the first three styles. For this part of our
lesson, we will also be utilizing the groupings in our earlier
activity.

All you need to do is to read the dialogue which will be


flashed in the screen and to answer the processing
questions after.

These are the processing questions which were assigned to


you:

1. Who are the audience?

2. Where are they talking ?

3. What is the topic?

4. Why are they talking?

5. What do you think is the communicative style


employed in the situation?

6. Construct a conversation of the

communicative style assigned to your group.


At this point, let us have the Group 1 to start their group
presentation.
