1. Introduction
In order to comply with the internal and statuary requirements for environmental monitoring at its
operation and surrounding environment the requirement of Construction Environment Management
plan of Jabal Dhanna site, ORIENT HOUSE FOR DEVELOPMENT & CONSTRUCTION LLC
(Located in Abu Dhabi, UAE) had commissioned with external support the process to carryout Air
Quality Monitoring at Three (02) established monitoring locations and Emission Monitoring at One
(01) suggested Generator within the premises of project site of ORIENT HOUSE FOR
DEVELOPMENT & CONSTRUCTION LLC located at Jabal Dhanna.
Requested Environmental Monitoring was carried out on 2nd September 2023. AQM Analyzer was
utilized to carry out Ambient Air Quality Analysis at two (02) selected locations. Air Quality Monitoring
was carried out for Temperature, Relative Humidity, Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO 2),
Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Ammonia (NH3), Ozone (O3) and dust monitoring.
Gaseous emission monitoring\ was carried out on same day dated 2 nd September 2023. Emission
Analyzer was utilized to carry out gaseous emission monitoring at one (01) selected Generator place
at the project site of Jabal Dhanna. Gaseous Emission Monitoring was carried out for Ambient
Temperature (Ta), Gas Temperature (Tg), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen
monoxide (NO), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Oxygen (O2)
and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S).
2. Purpose of Monitoring
The purpose of monitoring was to check air quality and generator emission monitornig by employing
the environmental monitoring equipment in order to comply with the requirements arising out from
approved CEMP of the project.
Federal Law No. (24) Of 1999 for the “Protection and Development of the Environment”
Applicable air pollutants standards are sourced from UAE Federal Law No. 24 (Environmental
Protection and Development) 1999. This refers to the statutory document through section 3,
Chapter IV, “Protection against Air Pollution”, at Article 55 states Enterprises and establishments
provide the necessary means of protection to the workers in accordance with conditions of safety
and occupational health including choice of machine, equipment’s and suitable types of fuel,
taking into consideration on the time of exposure to such pollutants. Article 54 States all parties
and individuals undertaking the production or services or other activities especially when
operating machines, equipment, working devices shall not exceed the permissible limits for
noise. Applicable air quality and noise level standards have been given under the following
tables.
