DMC Happenings this Week: Today is National I.T. Appreciation Day, Thursday 9/21, is our monthly Family
Dinner Night at Panda Express on Eastern, Friday is our annual Kindergarten Letter Parade. Football Camp began
this week.

Cox Cubs of the Week of the Week: Congratulations to the

following students for being Cox Cubs of the Week: Faith Medina,
Mia Davis, Alex Nguyen, Jae’Sean Pickard, Weston Ransom,
Rowan Simen, Bristol Gordon, Zeoy Gilbert, Axl Menasco,
Leon Rowland, Olivia DiFalco, Pedro Pinheiro, Weston Moore, and
Hailey Woodall!

PTA News: Thank you to all the families for a super fun Family Neon Night last Friday! The
students were really “rocking” out.

Parking Lot Reminders: Parents please remember that the front red
zone is a “Kiss and Go” zone in which you cannot get out of your
vehicle and leave it. We are having persons and vehicles almost
getting hit by trying to go around parked vehicles.

School-Wide Data: Our annual state assessment data and rating have
come in. We are “officially” a 3-STAR school with our lowest
performing categories in science (we implemented the new CCSD
science program last year “Amplify”) and our English Language
Learner subgroups. We also LOST 7 POINTS to Chronic
Absenteeism. We were 7 points shy from maintaining our 4-STAR
status from last year and have been analyzing where we need to make
our instructional changes. We are very proud of the growth our
students made last year and how much higher we performed than
the district!

As a community, what you can do honestly to help our kids the most
is get them to school. If they’re not at school, they cannot learn. As of
Monday, 9/18/23 we had a chronic absenteeism rate of 23% of our
school.
Thank you Students: We had a lot of submissions for our Yearbook Cover and back cover turned in Friday. Judging will take
place this week and winning art covers will be announced on Monday during announcements.

Infinite Campus: Parents, we are 3 weeks away from the first quarter of our semester. All grades, make-up work, and retakes
must be turned in by Friday, October 6th. Parent Conference Week is that following week in which you will be given a current
progress report for your student.
