mathematical concepts and problem-solving in later grades.

A. Presentation of Concept
At the end of the 60-minute discussion, the kindergarten pupils are expected to learn at least 75%
level of accuracy.
 Identify and verbally describe simple patterns
 Create basic patterns using a variety of materials, including colors, shapes, and objects,
demonstrating an ability to extend and repeat sequences
 Demonstrate creativity by using patterns in their drawings, crafts, and other artistic
expressions

B. Broadening of Concept
 Based on the discussion earlier, What shapes and colors do you see repeating in the story
presented?
 Can you make a pattern using your toys, like teddy bear, block, teddy bear, block?
 How do you think the stripes on your shirt go? What comes next?
 Do you notice patterns in nature, like the leaves on trees or the stars in the sky?
 Can you clap your hands in a pattern, like clap, clap, stomp, clap, clap, stomp?
 What kind of pattern do you see on the floor tiles? Are they all the same or different?
 How do the days of the week repeat? Can you name them in order?
 Can you draw a pattern with your crayons, like red, blue, red, blue?
 What kind of pattern do you notice on your classroom's bulletin board or your bedroom
curtains?
