Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2022

(Narrative Observation)

The Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2022 was held on August 28, 2022, with at least 50 contingents
who come up with their own festivals. Pasigarbo sa Sugbo celebrates Cebu province's 453rd
founding anniversary with a cultural presentation and dance competition. A bit of trivia is that
Pasigarbo sa Sugbo is an offspring of Suroy-Suroy Sugbo that one of Governor Gwendolyn
Garcia's programs which started during her first three terms in office. And it has been so
successful since it was born and until now that Pasigarbo sa Sugbo continuously shows the
uniqueness of our culture.
The program was started with street dancing or a dance parade from the contingents,
while the grand competition takes place at the Abellana Sports Center with a presentation from
the provinces of 50 cities and municipalities. All of the contingents, audience, choreographers,
sponsors, and guests had a full blast of excitement since they had seen a lot of beautiful
costumes, and props. And of course, the preparation wowed the people. During the competition,
each of the floats from the contingents was presented, and a bit of trivia about their festival
before they will start their ritual dance. They also thanked the sponsors for it wouldn't be
happened without their support. And of course, the exciting part was the announcement of the
winners where the Carcar City got the back-to-back champion after Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2019.
Though other contingents didn't take a place, they're still very happy because of the chance to
dance at of one the big events here in the province of Cebu. With the overall performance of the
contingents, there's no loss because each of them presented a fantastic performance. All of them
exert an effort and they do a job well done.
Overall, the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2022 was fun because it was one of the best Pasigarbo sa
Sugbo throughout the year. Indeed, Cebu has always led the way and the rest of the country
always follows. And of course, it's something that we should be proud of because Cebu is a
premier province in the country. We are the richest in terms of assets and also rich in human
resource tours, culture, and heritage.
