This week is COLOR week in kindergarten!!
Literacy
We will be reading books that go along with our
theme. In literacy centers we will be focusing
on tracking 1:1 match of words. We are doing
lots of work with our sight words with the short i
sound.
Sight Words: in, it, did
In phonics we will learn and review letter
sounds.
Math
This week we will continue our work with
numbers, practicing proper number formation.
We will discuss the meaning of zero. Students
will order and write numerals 0-3 to answer how
many questions and represent decompositions
with materials, drawings and equations, 3=2+1
and 3=1+2.
Suggested homework: Can your child write their name and identify all the letters in their name. Practice
both at home as needed. We will also begin working on proper number and letter formation.

pride.
Writing
Students will continue to write/draw in their
writing journals. This week we will focus on
labeling our drawings and using sentence
starters. Students who can write words/letters
will be encouraged to do so.

• Monday: Red

Yellow
• Wednesday: Green
• Thursday: Blue, Purple
• Friday: Rainbow
This week we will be studying all things color!
We will start by finding out what we know about
colors and like scientists we will ask questions,
make observations, and record our findings. We
will lean some new songs, read great books
and do some color experiments!!
