Reflection 1

Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment is a deeply concerning social issue that demands our attention and
concerted action. It is unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature that violates a person's dignity,
creates a hostile environment, or interferes with their ability to participate fully in various
aspects of life.
Based on the different issues in our society, the sexual harassment is one of the sensitive
issues that should not experience of the young children someday. It occurs across diverse
settings, such as workplaces, educational institutions, public spaces, and even online
platforms, and it affects individuals regardless of their background. Many people joke around
about sex but they do not see the feeling of those people whohear it, they might be
offended or being hurt.Sexual harassment leads to sexual assault when you feel fear,
humiliated or pain when you are being with that person when he/she is talking to you in
malicious way. Woman are the most victim of sexual assault because they lack of power than
men, more vulnerable, lack of confidence and tend not to speak and be silence not to
worsen the situation. Sometimes in workplace their co-worker will be the one who will
harass them like touching them in the legs, stalking and taking picture that includes the body
of that person and use it to blackmail them so that they will allow to have a sexual
intercourse to the victim. Many students are scared to enter school because they are being
harassed by the school employee or students that they are going to do something that is not
inhumane.Other people feel harassed because the words that coming from the mouth of
others makes them uncomfortable or scared. Sexually harassed people suffer stress
reaction, including anxiety, depression, headaches, sleep disorders, weight loss or gain,
nausea, lowered self-esteem and sexual dysfunction, can also lead them to embarrassment,
having not enough sleep, having trouble studying or paying attention, having trouble paying
attention and staying focused on work that can lead them to leave their work, thinking to
drop off or leave school, and lastly can lead them to suicide.
One of the solutions to combat sexual harassment is creating a culture of awareness and
prevention. This involves implementing comprehensive educational programs in schools,
universities, and workplaces that focus on promoting respectful behavior, consent, and
boundaries. By providing individuals with knowledge and tools to recognize and address
harassment, we can foster an environment that actively works to prevent such behaviors
from occurring. Additionally, organizations and institutions should establish clear policies
and reporting mechanisms that outline what constitutes harassment, the reporting process,
and the consequences for offenders. Moreover, promoting a supportive environment
through open dialogue, active listening, and providing counseling services or referrals can
further aid in creating a safe space for victims to seek assistance and share their experiences.
Ultimately, by combining prevention efforts, and a supportive environment, we can work
towards eradicating sexual harassment and creating a society that values respect, equality,
and dignity for all.
Reflection 2

Child's right to leisure, play, and participation in cultural and artistic activities.

The right to play is an essential child's right that holds immense significance in a child's
development and overall well-being. Play is not just a frivolous activity but a crucial aspect of
a child's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. It is through play that
children explore, experiment, and learn about the world around them.
I choose Child's right to leisure, play, and participation in cultural and artistic activities
because during my internship,it was very useful to practice children in engaging different
school activities, participating different competation activities. Also play will help young
learners to exposed themselves in socialization. In my own view about Child's right to
leisure, play, and participation in cultural and artistic activities is that, it is very important
part of the development of the child because through that they can express their feelings
and emotions for everything around them. They can discover and explore new things. It can
help develop their abilities.Allows children to exercise their creativity, imagination, and
problem-solving skills. It fosters their cognitive development by encouraging critical thinking,
decision-making, and logical reasoning. It is crucial for parents, educators to recognize and
respect this child's right. Parents should expose their children in socializing their peers or
others, especially in the school because it is a home for knowledge. We should give an
importance of this child's right for the development of the children. Governments and
policymakers have a responsibility to prioritize and protect this child's right.
In conclusion, the right to play and even the participation of cultural activities and others is
not a luxury but an essential child's right that promotes their holistic development. Through
that children acquire skills, knowledge, and values that lay the foundation for their future
success. It is our duty as a society to value, protect, and promote the right to play,
recognizing its profound impact on children's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-
being.
