Statement of Purpose

My fascination with technology has been a constant in my life ever since I got my first computer
in seventh grade. My interest in the inner workings of computer applications grew over the years,
and I eventually concluded that programming was the key to creating these applications. I began
my programming journey with a C programming book, learning the fundamentals of language,
flowcharts, and simple algorithms for basic mathematical problems. After completing my higher
secondary examinations, my passion for programming inspired me to pursue an undergraduate
degree in computer science and engineering. I worked hard and dedicated to achieving my B.Sc.,
obtaining an outstanding CGPA of 3.81. During my academic journey, I acquired knowledge
about numerous computer science courses, such as data structures, algorithms, software
engineering, artificial intelligence, and so on. I gained real-world experience that enabled me to
apply my knowledge to use and explore new areas. Now, I intend to deepen my knowledge about
these subjects by pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at the University of Regina.

I actively engaged in ACM programming clubs at my university and was recognized as the
Coder of the Month in the first quarter for my efforts. I also participated in various
intra-university programming and hackathon competitions like LU CSE Carnival 2019, LICT
SUST Tech Fest etc. When I was at higher secondary level, I started my first job in the tech
industry as a web designer for an American company named “Krest Marketing”. I developed my
programming abilities until the second year of my B.Sc. degree and was promoted to web
developer in the same company. Krest Marketing has a wide range of clients from various
industries, and I develop websites for them. My best two projects were where I primarily
engaged in the development of websites Krest Marketing and Gold Coast Design Build. During
the working period, I have learned about various clients’ requirements and proficient in different
programming languages and libraries, for instance, JavaScript, React JS, Divi builder and so on.
In addition, I have been running a successful part-time Kindle business on Amazon Kindle
Direct Publishing (KDP) for almost three years, where I sell educational and puzzle books. I
have earned revenue of more than $46,000 since the beginning. I gained extensive marketing
skills and learned how to build a business while operating this enterprise.

Currently, artificial intelligence is being used more often across all industries. The same thing
has been observed in both the Kindle industry and web application development. I need to know
more to utilize this in my profession. So, I want to acquire advanced knowledge in these
subjects. The University of Regina in Canada has a well-structured course curriculum that fits
my academic and professional interests; therefore, I am delighted to pursue a Master's in
Computer Science there. The program outline, for example, artificial intelligence, machine
learning, software engineering, web intelligence and electronic commerce, ideally matches my
expertise. I am confident that this curriculum will provide me with practical skills I can use in the
tech industry in Bangladesh. The Queen City Regina's friendly atmosphere and stunning
surroundings, including the well-known Wascana centre, make it the perfect site for focused
study. The city also provides several activities like skating, one of my childhood hobbies. Apart
from these, what truly motivated me in this course was all the faculty members at Regina with
their expertise and passionate interest in research in the above-mentioned subjects, especially Dr.
Malek Mouhoub’s projects, caught my attention.
After completing my degree in Canada, my whole desire is to come back to my home country
with a good experience and want to work in reputed company who develop AI based web
application such as Brain Station 23 Limited to be specialized in this sector. This is my
short-term goal because this would help me to understand about the IT industry in Bangladesh.
Above I mentioned that I noticed the presence of AI in Kindle Business and I want to make
something that will help me to expand my kindle business. This market is not so competitive yet
and found some exiting products idea that has not made yet so it is the right time for me to make
my own position in the market by creating AI based web application for Kindle business people.
I would lunch these products through my own company in Bangladesh, which will help me to
earn remittance for my country. Later, I will expand my company to enterprise level and serve
various solution to my countries health sector specially in telemedicine sector and this is my
ultimate goal is to establish my company as a prominent company.
