The Chandrayaa 3 Mission is to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and roving on the lunar
surface.
Chandrayaan 3 is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2.
It is configured with Lander and Rover.
The lander and rover configuration will be propelled by the propulsion module up to a 100 kilometre lunar
orbit.
To examine the spectral and Polarimetric data of Earth from the lunar orbit, the propulsion module is
equipped with the Spectro-polarimetry of Habitable Planet Earth (SHAPE) payload.
The purpose of this Chandrayaan 3 mission is to Collect Scientific Data of Moon's Surface, the Chemical
Composition of Soil, and other minerals.

The lander and rover configuration will be propelled by the propulsion module up to a 100 kilometre lunar
orbit.
Chandrayaan 3 Propulsion Module is a box-like structure with one sizable solar panel positioned on one side
and a sizable cylinder serving as the lander's mounting structure on top (the Intermodular Adapter Cone).
The Chandrayaan 3 Propulsion Module also has a payload dubbed Spectro-polarimetry of Habitable Planet
Earth (SHAPE) that measures Earth's spectral and polarimetric properties from an orbit around the moon.
Chandrayaan 3 Lander:
The Chandrayaan 3 lander is responsible for the soft landing on the Moon.
Chandrayaan 3 lander has four landing legs and four 800 Newton landing thrusters, and it is also box-shaped.
It will transport the rover and other scientific tools for on-site investigation.
Unlike Vikram on Chandrayaan-2, which had five 800 Newtons engines with a fifth one being centrally
installed with a fixed thrust, the Chandrayaan 3 lander will only have four throttle-able engines.
The Chandrayaan 3 lander will also be fitted with an LDV or Laser Doppler Velocimeter. In comparison to
Chandrayaan-2, the impact legs have been strengthened, and instrument redundancy has been increased.
Chandrayaan 3 Rover:
Six-wheeled design.
Weight - 26 kilograms (57 pounds).
Range of 500 meters (1,640 feet).
Scientific instruments including cameras, spectrometers, and a drill.
Expected lifespan of rover - one lunar day (14 Earth days).
Communication with the lander and ground control team in India.
