Factors that affects academic burnout among senior highschool

students: A proposed mindfulness program

Theoretical Framework

This study will be anchored in the Social Cognitive Theory,

proposed by Albert Bandura (1986). The theory states that

individuals behavior, beliefs, and development are influenced by

their cognitive processes, which encompass self-efficacy,

observational learning, and social support. Within the framework

of this theory, self-efficacy plays a central role in shaping

individuals perceptions of their capabilities and influences

their behavior in academic settings. observational learning,

another key component of the theory, suggests that individuals

can acquire new knowledge and behaviors by observing others,

which may be relevant to how students engage with the proposed

mindfulness program. Social support, the third critical variable

within the theory, highlights the importance of the assistance

and encouragement individuals receive from their social networks,

which can be a significant resource for students in managing

academic burnout.
