• Ran weekly programs at the Long Beach Township Field Station about oysters, oyster
aquaculture, oyster restoration, and shell recycling
- Identified keystone species, talked about anatomy and life cycle, planted a successful

• Intensive workshop detailing quantitative modeling methods including:
- Leslie matrices, simple stock assessments, complex stock assessments, multispecies
bioenergetics, ecosystem modeling (Ecopath and Ecosim)
• Practiced field sampling methods including:
- Stream assessment using seine nets, dissections for health assessments, removal,
processing, and aging of sagittal otoliths of common Lake Erie fishes, otter trawling,
plankton netting, electrofishing, and use of YSI EX02 multiparameter water quality
