Inverted Energy Private Limited is a deep-tech battery company working in the e-mobility and energy
storage domain. Founded in 2018, Inverted has grown from a team strength of 5 to a team strength of 200
by 2022. The company operates from Noida and runs warehouses and service centers across India. Before
starting Inverted, the cofounders Aditya Goel, Raghav Jain, and Rahul Raj (2008 and 2009 graduates from IIT
BHU) gained experience in diverse industries, like Energy, Investment Banking, Consulting, and Logistics. In
the last 4 years, Inverted Energy has electrified more than 2 lacs rural households, supplied Li batteries to
around 70 thousand electric vehicles, and established mini-grids at 50 sites. The team consists of young,
energetic, and highly dedicated members from top institutes like IIT BHU, IIT Delhi, DCE.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a talented and experienced Industrial Designer to join our team specializing in the design of
Lithium Ion batteries for 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and energy storage systems. As an Industrial Designer, you
will be responsible for creating innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs that optimize the
performance and user experience of our battery products.

Responsibilities:

1. Conceptualization and Design:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and objectives.

• Generate creative design concepts that meet the technical and functional specifications for Lithium
Ion batteries.
• Develop 2D and 3D design proposals, considering factors such as ergonomics, aesthetics,
manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Create detailed design specifications, including materials selection, assembly methods, and finishes.

2. Material and Process Knowledge:

• Possess a deep understanding of various materials, such as metals and plastics, used in battery
enclosures and components.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies
relevant to battery design.
• Apply knowledge of electric systems and battery technologies to optimize design for performance,
efficiency, and safety.

3. Aesthetics and User Experience

• Apply design principles to create visually appealing and high-quality battery designs that align with
market trends and customer preferences.
• Collaborate with the Industrial Design team to ensure consistency in the overall product portfolio and
brand identity.
• Conduct user research and usability studies to incorporate user-centered design principles into
battery design, considering ease of use and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.

• Proven experience (3-4 years) in industrial design, preferably in the field of Lithium Ion batteries or
similar electro-mechanical systems.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies relevant to battery
design, including metal and plastic fabrication techniques.
• Familiarity with electric systems and battery technologies, understanding their impact on design
considerations.
• A keen eye for aesthetics and the ability to create visually appealing designs that enhance the user
experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-
functional teams.
• Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on quality, functionality, and innovation.
• Portfolio showcasing previous battery or relevant product design work highlighting aesthetics,
functionality, and design thinking.
