Sử dụng UNLESS trong câu điều kiện loại 1

Trong câu điều kiện loại 1, sử dụng cấu trúc Unless để diễn tả một sự việc có thể xảy ra trong
tương lai. Ta có thể sử dụng cả Unless và If not thay thế cho nhau.

Cấu trúc: Unless + S + V (simple present), S + will/can/shall + V

Ví dụ:

 You will fail the IELTS test unless you study hard.

 You will fail the test if you do not study hard.

Lỗi sử dụng cấu trúc Unless khi muốn diễn đạt ý nghĩa If

Khi muốn diễn đạt ý nghĩa If, bạn không được sử dụng Unless

Ví dụ:

 I will go to the supermarket if my mother can not.

(Tôi sẽ đi siêu thị nếu mẹ tôi không thể.)

 I will go to the supermarket unless my mother can not. – Không được sử dụng
