English focuses on communication and how students can use it in expressing themselves
comfortably. The teacher would like to utilize the subject as a safe space for students in helping to
determine what their worries and feelings are, validate those feelings, and support them as they
need it.

Music, according to researches, is a helpful outlet that resonates the feelings of its listeners, and
this is why through music, one also finds a safe space to calm down and helps them focus on a task
or a single line of thought. Along with a diary, listening to music may help them express what they
can’t through drawing, writing a poem, or simply interpreting the lyrics of a song.
