Purpose and aim of the unit


This unit provides knowledge on job analysis as the process of collecting, analyzing, and setting out
information about jobs in order to provide the basis for preparation of Job Descriptions and Job
Specifications. The unit also provides knowledge on the overall purpose of job analysis and how it
produces information on job content and context and the outcome of job analysis. The unit also
provides knowledge on job analysis methodology.
Learning Outcomes
On the completion of this unit students will;
 Apply Job Analysis methodology and techniques
 Illustrate the link between Job Analysis, Job Description Job Specification.
 Analyze the contents and context of a Job
 Analyze the outcomes of Job Analysis and how each job should appear in the organizational
structure.

Assessment modes
 Assignment with Group Presentations based on outcomes of Job Analysis namely Job Description,
Job Specification (for a selected job position)
