Your car's battery is

one of the most

important parts of
your car. Not only
does it give power to
BATTERY your car's electrical
circuit, but it also
helps your car's
engine start when
you turn the key in
the ignition.
The ignition switch is
party of an
assembly, or system,
that includes the
ignition lock cylinder.
The entire
mechanism is
IGNITION responsible for
SWITCH starting your car as
well as providing
power to specific
areas of the vehicle,
such as the
electronic
accessories, the
ignition, and the
engine.
Most vehicles use
halogen bulbs for all
purposes, including
headlights and
interior lights. That
BULB means it's easy to
replace burnt-out
lights with another
halogen bulb. Ho
Automotive wire is a
flexible wire with
stranded conductors
for use on low-
voltage automotive
systems. Conductor
material may be
AUTOMOTIVE copper or aluminum,
WIRE although automotive
wires sold by Allied
Wire & Cable (AWC)
are copper because
of their better
durability and current
capacity.

Switches whether
they're toggles or
rockers, push-button
or disconnect are
found in every 12-
volt electrical
SWITCH system, doing
everything from
turning on lights to
moderating critical
systems.

Bosch power relays

are used for
switching operations
in engines, starters,
and other large
BOSCH products. They work
RELAY with rated switching
currents of up to 350
A (and up to 3500 A
in the case of battery
cut-off relays).
A dimmer switch is
used for changing
headlamps from high
DIMMER beam to low beam.
SWITCH The dimmer switch is
connected in series
within the headlamp
circuit and controls
the current path for
high and low beams.

The headlight switch

is usually located on
the lever that is
mounted on the
steering column
however they can
HEADLIGHT also come in the
SWITCH form of buttons or
knobs mounted on
the interior of
vehicles. This switch
controls the interior
lights, the running
lights, the low beam
headlights, and the
high beam
headlights.

While parking lights

are designed to
make your car visible
when parked, they
won't provide
PARKLIGHT sufficient light when
SWITCH driving in the dark.
You'll need to use
your dipped beam
headlights when
driving. These are
designed to light the
road ahead when
you're on the move.
Fuses are essentially
the guardians of your
vehicle's electrical
components. Relays
within the fuse panel
help to protect the
FUSE driver by keeping the
high voltage supply
away from drive
switches. The fuse
box houses the
fuses and relays to
prevent damage
from water.

An ammeter is a
“flow meter” that's
AMMETER intended to measure
current flow to the
battery.
