CHAPTER I

Background Information

A. Business Description/Background

Though province of Antique is very rich when it comes to staple food,there is still a possible
demand for another kind of food that is healthy,tasty and affordable which is not yet sold and
not present in every market of the province. Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship special
class of section 3B started a Business: Camote de Flavore sweet potato chips with 3 (three)
flavors: BBQ,Cheese,and Caramel as Partial Fulfillment of Requirements in Entrep7 (Business
Preparation ) subject. Camote de Flavore effectively formed in the middle of September 2023
planned and agreed by the group composed of 6 members namely: Bea Vanessa G. Near, Jane
Rubite,Robert John Villar Crystal Gale Tamboong John Ralph Iwag and Ann Evangelista. This
company focused on the target market, which is healthy in all ages. The sweet potato chips was
achieved by dip frying with virgin coconut oil.Our company Camote de Flavore will produced a
unique and different product for the market. We will provide specific unique products to our
customers for their level of satisfaction and at the same time we will help support our local
product.

Camote de Flavore raising revenues will likely be by personal and online selling. The
product should be attractive enough and have a different taste of the target market.
Through that there will be an increase in the number of customers, the average
transactions size,and the frequency of transactions per customers for their level of
satisfaction.
The main target of this company is people in the community in all ages who like to eat
chips. Its target market is in different snacks zone specifically in markets,grocery and
stores around the province of Antique,moreover on terminals for pasalubong purposes
The major investment of the enterprise are the product itself. The uniqueness and the
appeal of being new of this products will serve as the competitive advantage of the
business.

The business will finance the investment through the capital contributions of each of the
group composed of 6 members. Its growth will then be obtained in the succeding
business cycles.Camote de Flavore will start by raising a maximum capital of Php 1,500
( One thousand five hundred) each member from the group will accured a specific
amount in order to reach the desired capital.The company will start its profit into 5%( five
percent) and aiming to increase it by 10% (ten percent) inside 10 (ten) months time
frame. Main goal of this business to be known locally and to rise its demand for snacks.

Sweet potato,locally known as "camote" and scientifically named Ipomea batatas L. is

popularly known as the poor mans crops in the province of Antique

(isweb.pcaarmd.aust.gov.ph). From a more supplemental source of income of small

farmers,sweet potato has demand for sweet potato product. In 2019 Western Visayas

has 8.6 percent richness when it comes to sweet potato.
