Essay Writing Competition, Quiz contest and Public Speaking on Khadi

Mahotsav

Dear Students,

With reference to File No.: 11-Acad029/60/2023-Acaclemic/C-21301 dated 13-10-2023 ,

received from KVS (HQ) , as informed by Ministry of Education, Government of India has
launched "Khadi Mahotsav." with a tagline “ Khadi for Nation Khadi for Fashion” with the
objective to promote khadi , handloom, handicraft, village industries, one district one
product (ODOP) and other local products and to support the Atma Nirbhar Bharat
Abhiyan”. Various competitions are being organized under this Abhiyan.

Details of the event are as follows:

1. Essay Writing Competition

Class 6 -10 Word Limit: 1000 words

Topics: 1.Importance of Khadi in Freedom Struggle
2.Khadi and Gandhi
3. My Childhood and Khadi
4. Khadi and development of the country
5. Khadi is my pride
6. Atma Nirbhar Bharat

Class 11 -12 Word Limit: 1500 words

Topics 1.Khadi Journey from Desi to Global
2. Increasing popularity of khadi
3. youth fashion and khadi
4. Khadi for nation , khadi for fashion
5.Vocal for Local
6.Local Products and Economic Independence
 Note : Students are required to mail their Essay in form of PDF till 29
October by evening with all necessary details like Name of the students
,class ,section ,address and mobile number to the mail id :

Rules and Guidelines:

Essay Writing Competition:

1. The competition is open to all students of VI -XII

2. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Entries should be original and the student's
own work.
3. The essay should not exceed the word limit.
4. Essays will be judged on content, creativity, and writing quality.
5. Essay can be written in 12 languages English, Hindi , Assamese ,
Bengali,Gujrati,kannada,malyalam,Marathi,odiya,Punjabi,tamil,telugu

2. Khadi Mahotsav Quiz Competition

“Khadi Mahotsav Quiz Contest “is live upto 31st October, 2023 on
MYGov platform . The quiz is open for all . The questions will be in
Hindi and English and will be based on khadi and village industries ,
handloom , handicrafts and ODOP (One district one product ).

3. Public Speaking Event: Class VI –X

1. Duration: 4 minutes (Students are required to send a video of Speech with

all necessary details like Name of the students ,class ,section ,address and
mobile number to the mail id kvagcca1@gmail.com

• Speech Topic: Class 6-10 Category 1 (Duration 04 Minutes)

1."Khadi – An important Icon in the Freedom Movement
2. My Idea about Handloom/Handicrafts
3. Khadi – Livelihood of Rural India
4. Khadi Bapuji Ka Sapna
5. Pride of place in the economy
• Speech Topic: Class 11-12 Category 2 (Duration 06 Minutes)
1.Khadi – A heritage industry in rural livelihood
2. Futuristic Khadi products
3. Economic and Cultural Significance of Handloom industry
4. Wear Khadi – Be a part of Rahtriya Nirman
5. Khadi & Village industries : Suitability and sustainability in
today’s context

Rules and Guidelines:

Public Speaking Event:

1.Participants must prepare a speech related to the given topic.

2. Speech can be in Hindi/English.
2.Speeches should be informative, engaging, and well-researched.
Students are required to send a video of Speech with all necessary details
like Name of the students ,class ,section ,address and mobile number to
the mail id kvagcca1@gmail.com
