Questions:
COHESIVE DEVICES
As a writer or a speaker, it is always important that our words or sentences
must relate to each other. This is also known as cohesion. This term comes from the
word cohere which means ‘to stick together’. Coherence can be achieved using
linking words and expressions that help the readers or speakers follow a certain line
of thought from one idea to another.
Cohesive devices, sometimes called linking words, transitional words,
connectors, or linkers, are words or phrases that are used to show relationship
between sentences or paragraphs. 1
Moreover, however, on the other hand are some of the examples of
cohesives.
