A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan for ED 304 — The Teacher and the Community, School

Culture and Organization Leadership

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:


a. Understand what are the External Environment of chools;
b. Identify the 2 General Views of the Environment; and
c. Explain the 3 underlying Principles of the Accountability of Schools.

III. Procedure

A. Preparation

The class will begin with a prayer, preceded by welcome remarks from the teacher. The teacher
will next share the PowerPoint presentation with the students and check if there are audio-visual
difficulties. Google Meet is utilized as a tool for the class conference since it is an online way of
learning.

B. Motivation

The teacher will begin the conversation by posing a subjective question connected to the topic.
The learners are supposed to respond to how it impacts them. Instructionally, credit to the
students' answers is provided.

C. Review
The teacher will begin by recalling the prior report's relevant important concepts. The teacher
will go through these phrases with the learners and call on learners at random to see if they grasp
what was just spoken.

IV. Lesson Proper

The teacher will begin the conversation by clarifying the following points:

• What is External Environment of S?


Social issues such as conflicts, a student death, staffing issues, and low academic
achievement are instances of these. However, possible external difficulties include political and
economic issues such as school board elections and mishandling of school funding. External
environment is a group factors or conditions that are outside the organization but affect in some
extent. In business this term commonly applies to elements related to out of control dimensions
such as society economy regulations and political system.

Resource Dependence Framework


 Resource Dependence Framework discusses the behavioral consequences of being
dependent on a constrained or limited quantity of resources on organizational processes
Institutional Theory
 By updating basic assumptions about human behavior in complex organizational
contexts, institutional theory seeks to explain the rise of non-rational and suboptimal
behavior in modern companies.

Accountability of Schools
Based on 3 underlying principles:

 higher standards of performance

 build capacity for delivering improved education

 increase quality and quantity of outcomes

A. Application

“Illustrative Skit”
The students will be group in 5 groups. They will create a 5-minute Skit on how External
Environment affects the School. The students must take note of the following criteria for the said
activity.

B. Analysis/Abstraction
