The Filipino global corporation that I chose was the Jollibee Foods Corporation. JFC or also known
as the Jollibee Foods Corporation is a worldwide Filipino company located in Pasig, Philippines. JFC is the
parent company of the one of the best fast foods in town, Jollibee. Tony Tan Caktiong and his family
founded the first Jollibee branch, a Magnolia Ice Cream parlor in Cubao, Quezon City, in 1975. Before, the
Magnolia branches handled by Tan Caktiong. Customers requested hot meals and sandwiches, which the
Tan Caktiong family discovered were more popular than the ice cream offered by the franchise. The family
chose to close the Magnolia franchise in 1978 and transform their ice cream parlors into fast food
restaurants. In January 1978, the Jollibee Foods Corporation was incorporated. There were seven
branches in Metro Manila before the end of the year. Jollibee's first franchised location opened in Santa
Cruz, Manila, in 1979. JFC established 260 new branches in 2011, with 167 of them in the Philippines,
topped by Mang Inasal (86) and Jollibee (40). As of the end of December 2011, the company's total
number of stores was 2,001. Not only Jollibee but they also franchise other fast food. And now they’re
operating a over 900+ stores worldwide. That’s why Jollibee was the largest fast-food chain. The impact
that they made was so great especially here in the Philippines. But now not only in our country the
foreigners greatly enjoyed too.
