RO Plant Operating Log: SOP/EG/009/SF01.

7. PROCEDURE:

HSRO Plant Operation:

 Please check the following before you start the R.O. Plant.

 Constant pretreated water supply is available.

 Constant dosing of Anti Scalant Dosing (DP-1006) should be ON.

 MCF Feed pump (MFP 1001 A/B) pressure water pump is not run dry.

 15 - 20 minutes flushing of membranes with raw/ product water must be done every day at the
time of shut down and plant start-up.

 Ensure that PW collection tank is not full.

 Reject collection valve is fully open (BV-56).

 Ensure the free chlorine in the RO feed tank is ZERO ppm. Check it at the discharge of the HSRO
Feed Tank.

 15 - 20 minutes flushing of membranes with raw/ product water must be done every day at the
time of shut down and plant start-up.

 If low or high pressure switch is active than high pressure pump will not be started.

HSRO Normal start up

 Open MCF Feed Pump Suction valve (BV-50 or BV -51) & partially throttle discharge valve (BV-52
or BV- 53) to avoid low suction tripping initially.

 Open H.P.P Suction valve (BV-54 or BV -55) & partially throttle discharge valve (BV-56 or BV- 57)
to avoid low suction tripping initially.

 Ensure Anti Scalant Dosing to the line as per preset dosing.

 In auto mode plant will start automatically.

 If the Conductivity will be high the plant will start auto dump valve ASV -37 which directly drain
water to drain up to settable time after that the plant will shut down if it doesn`t achieve the set
limit.

 Take corrective action at the pretreatment plant and Increase the concentration of SMBS
chemical by adding some raw chemical to the tank. Check free chlorine again if is zero than close
auto dump valve (ASV-37).

 Start high pressure pump (HPP-1002 A or B) and dosing pumps & maintain feed flow of 2000
LPH using suction valve (BV-54 or BV-55) & discharge valve (BV-56 or BV-57) gradually.

 Adjust to the required flow rate and pressures & start product water supply to EDI system. If the
conductivity is high, than ASV-38 will get open automatically and water drains for resettable
time. If the Conductivity is still not in the range of set value, RO plant – High pressure pump
along MCF feed pump with will trip.

 In normal run, RO reject water will be collected into the Reject Water Tank RWST -1001. For that
keep the BV-56 open.

 In normal run, RO permeate shall be supplied to the EDI system. Adjust to the required flow rate
and pressures & start product water from product outlet maintaining flow rate of 1.10 m3/hr
using flow meter (FI-108).

 Conductivity shall be measured by CM -103 at the outlet of the EDI system and monitored
online. In case of high conductivity reading, FDV-101 will be open and water will return to the
RO Feed Tank.

 Once the Conductivity achieved, the EDI output water shall be transferred to the PW storage
tank. Maintain the Flow of 1.0 M3/Hr.

 Flush whole system every 4 hours to avoid the stagnancy of water to prevent microbial growth
in water reset the pressure & flow according to the Design Qualification as stated earlier step`s.
