JORDAN: Oh Hi Gina, I am doing Good. What about you?
JORDAN: I remember you studied psychology. Where do you work? GINA: I am a childrens psychologist. I have a full time job at a hospital. I have to attend the emotional, mental and behavioral disorders that affect children. GINA: It is a very demanding job because children are treated differently tan adults. GINA: Tell me a Little bit about your current job. What are your responsibilities? JORDAN: I am a civil engineer. I work at the city hall of Lima. JORDAN: My role basically involves translating designs on to the construction site, so my time is Split between the office and the site, where I have to supervise and check the construction activies. GINA: I guess, it is not an easy job, but it is rewarding. JORDAN: Yeah, it is a very rewarding job. It can be stressful sometimes, though. JORDAN: There is a great sense of teamwork that comes through creating something and facing challenges together. JORDAN:If you enjoy working with people to help solve problems that affect wider society, then go for it. GINA: That isninteresting Jordan! How much experience do you have? JORDAN: I ve worked in a construction site since I was an apprentice. JORDAN: You know what? Every Project is different; I am currently working a 50-hour, five-day week. In a years time I can be working nights in another parto f the country. JORDAN: But, it is ok! It fullfils my salary expectations. GINA: I cant believe it! Fromm y point of view, you have to be creative and work under pressure doing overtime. JORDAN: Sure! GINA: Do you remember Carlos Vega? JORDAN: Yes, I do! He studied architecture at UTP. GINA: I met him last week. He lost his job a month ago and he can´t find another one yet. GINA: Does he work in your field? JORDAN: I think I can give him a chance. If there is something I learned at UTP was to be empathic. GINA: You are right. Not only were we trained professionally, but also learned values at UTP.
