How was your last semester?

Linda and Diego met at the bus stop.

Diego: Hi, Linda. We studied some general courses together at UTP. Do you remember
me?
Linda: Oh, yes. How are you?
Diego: I'm ok. Well, I miss face-to-face classes.
Linda: I miss spending time with my classmates, too.
Diego: What is your major?
Linda: My major is Psychology. How about yours?
Diego: I'm majoring in business administration. Why did you choose your major?
Linda: Well, I'm interested in Psychology since I was in high school. It was not a hard
choice for me.
Diego: Cool! I'm interested in managing my own business. How was your last semester?
Linda: It was fun. The teacher assigned some homework on Canvas Platform, so I was
able to download it at any time and send it back for revision. Then I watched a lot of helpful
videos, I also read some useful infographics and practiced some interesting activities that
helped me a lot. How many courses did you take last semester?
Diego: I took six courses. I worked and studied at the same time, so I had a little time to
do my homework or study. What about you?
Linda: I took eight courses. I didn't work. I only studied.
Diego: I see. Do you remember our math teacher Mr. Saenz?
Linda: Of course. He was very interesting and challenging.
Diego: I agree. He was very clear about what you needed to learn to get a good grade. I
liked his online classes on Zoom.
Linda: What I really liked about him was that he was an understanding and friendly
teacher. Did you know that he has 20 years of teaching experience?
Diego: No, I didn't. But I could imagine it.
Linda: Yes. He was very demanding because he wanted students present homework on
time.
Diego: I know. Last semester, it was difficult to work and study. I had to explain to him why
my homework didn't get done.
Linda: Oh! What happened that you didn't get it done?
Diego: I had to watch the soccer game instead.
Linda: Did he accept it?
Diego: No, he didn't. He only allowed one missed assignment per semester.
Linda: Remember, you are a university student, not high school student. You need to be
more responsible with your mandatory activities.
Diego: I know. It was the last time I didn't present my homework.
Linda: Once, I was very sick. I didn't send my homework on time, I talked to him, and
he accepted me to send it again when I felt better.
Diego: Good for you Linda! Well, my bus is coming. Let's keep in touch. See you!
Linda: Take care!
