Preparation for discussion mid-term test

Topic: Covid 19
Mr Tuan: Today, we are going to talking about Covid 19. I am Tuan. I will be in
charge of today’s meeting. People joining the discussion today are Toan and Duy.
You all know that Covid 19 pandemic is taking place all over the world. The
COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and
presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, food systems and the world
of work. There are about 200 millions people get covid 19 and it causes about 4
millions deaths. The economic and social disruption caused by the pandemic is
devastating: tens of millions of people are at risk of falling into extreme poverty,
while the number of undernourished people, currently estimated at nearly 690
million, could increase by up to 132 million by the end of the year.
What are preventive measures to stop the spreading of COVID 19?
Who would like to begin?
Mr Toan, please.
Mr Toan: Firstly, we need to know the mechanism how the Covid 19 spread. The
virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles
when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. People may also become infected
by touching surfaces that have been contaminated by the virus when touching their
eyes, nose or mouth without cleaning their hands.
So, to prevent the spreading of covid 19, we should….
+/wear mask
+/wash hands
+/keep safe distance (~2m)
Mr Duy: It’s absolutely true, Toan. But I think, what you said is just for short-term
treatment. For long-term treatment we need vaccination. When we get vaccinated,
whenever the antigens (corona virus) enter our body, our body will produce
antibodies to fight the corona virus and keep us safe. When all people around the
world get vaccinated, we can completely stop the pandemic.
Mr Tuan: I totally agree with you both about the ways we prevent the spreading of
covid 19. Vaccination seems to be the most optimal method to stop the pandemic.
However, there are some serious side effects of vaccine such as sick, muscle pain,
headache. So far, there are several death cases from adverse reaction to vaccines
(Astra Zeneca). Morever, in Russia, some people still get Covid 19 after being
vaccinated. Question is “ Should we get COVID 19 vaccines immediately when we
have a chance” or “Should we wait for better vaccines with less side effects and
more effective”?
Mr Toan: I think (agree) (bổ sung…..)

Mr Duy: I think..(disagree) (bổ sung…..)..

Mr Tuan: We are running out of time. To sum-up, to stop spreading of covid 19, we
should apply short-term and long-term treatment. With short-term treatment we
need….With long-term treatment we need get vaccinated. Regarding vaccination,
getting vaccine or not is a right of each person. Side effects are forwarned, and
inevitable. Before applying vaccine, we need to be checked up by a doctor to avoid
adverse reaction. Number of people still get covid 19 virus take very small
percentage of people getting vaccinated. Have I gotten anything?
Thanks for your contribution.
Ok Mr Toan, Mr Duy
