POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS

THE PRESIDENT

 The President shall serve as the chief executive officer of the organization, shall
preside all the meeting of the organization, and shall prepare the agenda for
meetings.
 The President shall be the official spokesperson of the organization in
representing the policies, views, and opinion at large. He or She should represent
the school’s entire student body (hence why they’re sometimes called as Student
Body President)
 The President may oversee his or her association’s efforts on students’ activities,
events and planning, recognition of developing issues pertaining to students,
and communication between faculty and staff and administration, and the
student body.
 The President may grant veto power to the individual passed by the student
senate.

THE VICE-PRESIDENT

 The primary responsibility of the Vice-President is to be ready at a moment’s


notice to assume the Presidency if the President is unable to perform his duties.
This can be because of the President’s resignation or temporary incapacitation.
 The Vice President shall be the acting President or the presiding officer in the
absence of the President of the organization.

THE SECRETARY

 The Secretary is the one who writes the minutes of the meeting and the one who
will help the President in making the rules and regulations.
 The Secretary will maintain all the permanent and temporary records of the
Student Council and will also direct communicate with the heads on behalf of
the organization.
 The Secretary should ensure that the copies of the minutes of all the Student
Council meetings shall be distributed in a proper time or without any delay to all
Student Council Officers.
 A Council Secretary can also play a major role at any meeting in the absence of
the President and the Vice President.

THE TREASURER
 The Treasurer shall be the one who handles all the financial affairs and
budgeting of the organization, maintain all necessary accounting records, and
prepare monthly financial reports.
 The Student Body Treasurer should develop a positive working relationship
over the budget year with the Finance Officer and the Council to ensure the
responsible expenditures of our student funds.
 The Treasurer should keep invoices that indicate the expenditures of the school.
 The Treasurer approves all the activity and service fee expenditures and shall
have all the powers and duties granted to him or her by statute.
 The Treasurer together with the administrative support office oversees the
expenditures of the Student Body funds and stresses fiscal responsibility.

THE AUDITOR

 The Student Body Auditor is the one responsible in examining all the invoices
and make sure that those are accurate, as the invoice amount should match the
figures indicated in the school’s accounting ledger.
 The Auditor also then compares the invoices to the contract related to the
invoices, if applicable; to make sure that the school wasn’t cheated.
 The Auditor should keep an eye on the accounting records, including the monies
that come in through solicitations to avoid discrepancy.
 The Auditor should review all the fiscal reports and prepares a formal report
both for the school and the Council for the act of transparency.

THE REPRESENTATIVES

 The Representatives are the one who are responsible in disseminating the
essential information discussed in the Student Council meeting onto their
respective level and must report to the organization whatever the feedback is.
