SUBSTANTIVE LAW

the part of the law that deals with the rights and duties
of people, organizations, etc. rather than the part that
deals with legal processes

Ex: The law of evidence overlaps with other branches of


procedural and substantive law.
COUNSEL

Ex: There are several precedents for promoting people

judges

be punished, or who makes decisions on legal matters:

Ex: The judge will pronounce sentence on the
