Region III
DIVISION OF CITY OF BALANGA
District II
It is the peak of the rainy season--- the season of the year where endless showers of typhoons and rain may
come. And together with this out flowing of rain, there is also a big container of problems that may arise like
illnesses and diseases, floods, and landslides.
But more ironically, it is not the floods and landslides that every pupil, parent, teacher, or people in the
community worry about, but to the different kinds of diseases that may make them ill or may take their lives if not
prevented or cured. And one of these serious diseases that everyone fears is the “dengue virus” or “dengue fever”.
Because of this serious problem that can affect everyone, especially the schools were there are so many
pupils, teachers, and parents that may be become victims or casualties of this disease, our City Government of
Balanga, with the leadership of our Mayor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, our Schools Division Superintendent Ronaldo
A. Pozon, Ph.D, CESO VI, the City Health Office of Balanga headed by Dr. Oliver Enriquez, the Division of City of
Balanga conducted a dengue orientation program at the school last June 20, 2012 which is participated by the pupils
and teachers from grade four to six.
The cause of this program is to inform everyone about the causes, symptoms, preventions, and cure about
“dengue”. In this program, it also emphasizes the importance of doing our roles in helping the school and the
community to fight this epidemic, so that everyone in the community will be safe to these kinds of harmful pests.
Together with an oral discussion of the dengue orientation, the City Health Office also given brochures to some of
our pupils and teachers so that everybody will be always reminded of what should be done.
And as a pledge of participating in this cause, our school will conduct a regular cleaning inside and outside
the school vicinity, not only because of wanting to be safe against dengue, but to establish a healthy and clean
institution that can be portrayed as a model in the community.
