This document provides a script for role playing a lesson between a teacher and students on cause and effect. The teacher leads the students in a prayer and takes attendance. Then, the teacher uses examples of striking an egg with a fork and sleeping late to illustrate causes and their effects. Through a discussion with several students, the class learns that every action has a cause and effect. For homework, the students are assigned to identify 3 causes and their effects for the situation of streets flooding every time it rains.

Are there anyone who is absent for our discussion today? None? Okay, very good! Please arrange your chairs first and go back to your own seat everybody thank you. ------- Teacher: Okay class, to start our lesson proper, let’s say that I am holding a fork and an egg. Can anyone tell me what would happen if I strike the egg with the fork? What will happen to the egg? (Note: when the students will answer make sure to raise hand first and then call on the name of the student that plays the role) Student 2: The egg will break teacher! Teacher: Correct very good ______! The force of us striking the egg with the fork will cause the egg to break. How about when we go to bed late, let’s say around 11pm instead or 8pm or 9pm? Student 3: We will be late for school teacher! Teacher: Yes, true! And why is that? Student 4: Because if we sleep late we will wake up late the next morning teacher. Teacher: Correct. So what can you observe on those two scenarios that I have given you? Anyone who wants to answer? Yes ____________. Student 5: Every action that we make has its cause and effect teacher. Teacher: Yes, very good! Which one do you think will be the cause of every scenario? Is it the action you have done or the result of the action you did? Student: The cause teacher is the action that we do. Teacher: Yes! It is the event that happened which leads to the result which is what we considered as the effect of a certain action. Are we clear on that? Are there any questions? Students: None so far teacher! Teacher: okay so to test if you really understand our discussion kindly get one whole sheet of intermediate pad paper, write your name, grade and section as well as the date today and answer these following questions. (Noted: ipapaskil sa board ang props na activity sheet wherein andon ung tanong) Teacher: Okay class, finish or not finish pass your papers forward so that I can check your outputs for today and for your assignment for tomorrow give 3 possible cause and effect to this situation: “The streets are flooded every time it rains.” (isusulat ito ng teacher sa board) Teacher: Okay good bye class!
