ASSURE LESSON PLAN

Lesson Title: Active Recreation: Dual Sport Badminton


Grade Level: Grade 9
Subject: Physical Education
Lesson Length: 60 minutes

A. Analyze Learners
 General Characteristics:
In this class, there 50 total of the students. It has 20 males and 30 males.
The lesson designed for 9th grade school age range from 14-16 years
old. The students are active when it comes to encountering and
developing new skills in any physical activities, such as in playing sports,
dancing and doing physical exercises. Individuals are used to learning by
doing, which is why applying psychomotor learning is an efficient
technique to transfer knowledge.

 Learning Style:
Most of the students in the class are 50% kinesthetic learners wherein
they are actively performing physical activities, while the visual is 30%
and auditory is 20%.

B. State Objectives
 The learners will differentiate indoor and outdoor recreational activities
and describe the history and the fundamentals of badminton.

Learning Competency
discusses the nature and background for indoor and outdoor recreational
activities (PE9GS-Iva-6)
 The learners will execute the fundamentals steps of badminton.

Learning Competency
participates in active recreation (PE9GS-IVb-h-7)

 The learners will develop the importance of the fundamentals skills in


badminton with 80% accuracy that helps in the community to engage the
physical fit body.

advocate community efforts to increase participation in physical activities

C. Selected Methods, Media and Materials


a. Methods
 Interactive Discussion: The teacher will present the power point so that
he/she can start the class.
 Image Viewing: The students will memorize the proper steps on how to
play badminton.
 Active Learning: The students will apply those fundamentals they have
learned and perform proper execution.
b. Media
 Use of video demonstration and pictures.
 The teacher will provide the power point presentation for the lesson.
 The teacher will prepare the materials needed.
c. Materials
 Laptop - it will be use to run the slides and to play the video
presentations.
 Projector – it will be use to present the power point presentation in the
class and also, to project the video presentation.
 Speaker – students will able to hear the video clip about the lesson.
 Badminton racket and shuttlecock/s – for the activity.
 Net – it is use to attempt to make the shuttlecock hit the floor in the other
side to win a point, this will be needed for the activity.
 Textbook – this will be the guide lesson for the students.

D. Utilize Media, Materials and Methods


 Preview the Material: The teacher will provide the textbook to explain
the activity and also, students will prepare the rackets and shuttlecock for
the activity to be done.
 Preview the Media: The teacher will play the video, ensuring that the
video it works and the audio is clear. All the media that will needed to use
check it before to start the class to avoid technicality.
 Prepare Material: The teacher will prepare the materials needed, such
as the laptop, projector, speaker and other materials to avoid distraction
during classes.
 Prepare the Environment: The teachers must observe first the
cleanliness of the classroom and the behavior of the students before
starting the class. After the discussion, the teacher must prepare in
where they can play badminton and make sure that the place is
available.
 Prepare the Learners: The teacher will inform the students to bring the
things needed for the activity and will inform them to participate in the
discussion and activities.

E. Require Learner Participation


 The students are expecting to perform the proper fundamentals of
badminton after the discussion. The students should all be actively
participating in the lesson; it is intended to keep them interested during
the discussions and provide activities at the end of the topic.
 Group Activity: The students will divide the badminton court into three
quarters. Form three groups with 8-10 players each. Each group should
stay in one quarter of the court. Quarter 1 group serves the shuttle to any
of the quarters. The receiving group hits the shuttle to any of the
quarters. The group who gains five points, first will be eliminated from the
game. Another set of five players will replace the eliminated group. You
can use any of the strokes in hitting the shuttle. In this activity, the
students will apply their knowledge by performing the fundamentals of
badminton. Teachers will observe each of them if they are gaining
knowledge in discussion.

F. Evaluate & Revise


Reflection Paper
In one whole sheet of yellow paper, make a reflection paper at least 2 to 3
paragraph.
1. What are the benefits of playing badminton?
2. How is it important to play badminton?
3. What is your experience by playing badminton?
