I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of recreation in optimizing one’s health as a habit; as requisite for
physical activity assessment performance, and as a career opportunity.
B. Performance Standard
The learner leads recreational events with proficiency and confidence resulting in independent pursuit and in
influencing others positively.
C. Learning Competencies
Engages in moderate to vigorous physical activities (MVPAs) for at least 60 minutes most days of the week in a
variety of settings in-and out of school. PEH12FH-IIa-t-8

Before we proceed to our lesson today, let’s have an
activity called “Fix Me Up”. I want you to re-arrange the
jumbled letters inside each box to form a word that will
name the picture. Just raise your right hand if you know
the answer.

At the end of our lesson, you are expected to:

I will group you into four groups. And you will search Group 1: Define and list down the steps on how to
through your mobile phones the designated topics that execute Freestyle stroke in swimming.
I will assign in each group. Group 2: Define and list down the steps on how to
execute Butterfly stroke in swimming.
Group 3: Define and list down the steps on how to
execute Backstroke in swimming.
Group 4: Define and list down the steps on how to
execute Breaststroke in swimming.

minutes, select one member from your group to
present your answer in front of the class.

The freestyle stroke, also known as front crawl, is the
fastest and most efficient of the swimming strokes used
in competition.

Group 2. The butterfly stroke (colloquially shortened to fly is

opposite arm movements. As one arm pulls through the
water from an overhead position to the hip, the other
arm recovers above the water from the hip to the
overhead position and vice versa.

most popular recreational style due to the swimmer's
head being out of the water a large portion of the time,
and that it can be swum comfortably at slow speeds.

D. EXPLAIN
FREESTYLE STROKE. The legs perform a kicking action
while the arms are alternately brought over head and
into the water.

BUTTERFLY STROKE. It is the most demanding stroke –


a simultaneous overhand arm motion combines with a
dolphin kick. The swimmer must touch the walls with
both hands.

BACKSTROKE. The swimmer stays on his or her back


and uses an overhand arm motion and a flutter kick.
The swimmer may stay under the water for 15 meters
after starting and turning.

BREASTROKE. Arms move forward from breast at the

called the frog kick. The swimmer must touch the wall
with both hands.

E. ELABORATE
Okay class. Together with your group earlier, you will
execute the basic strokes in swimming through dance RUBRIC
presentation. I will give you 10 minutes to practice. And CRITERIA PERCENTAGE
you will be rated according to this Rubric. Kindly read. Choreography 40%
