STATCON
Statistical Contingency Fuel – STATCON uses historical statistical data to calculate an accurate contingency fuel figure by looking at the actual fuel burn for the last 3
months and also a similar period a year ago of specific flight number/aircraft type combinations. STATCON covers factors, such as ATC delays which vary from flight
to flight and which are not accurately accounted for by using a fixed percentage (e.g. 3% or 5%) of TRIP fuel for the contingency fuel calculation.
NOTE: The kg values shown are averages and therefore approximate. They may vary up or down with ZFW and the enroute conditions of the day.
STATCON 90/95/99 – 90/95/99% of all flights in the observation period did not consume more than this amount of contingency fuel.
Unless there is any non-statistical reason, Flight Dispatch will create an Operational Flight Plan (OFP) based on STATCON 90. If Flight Dispatch identifies the need to
increase the operational flexibility or to cover for circumstances such as marginal weather enroute or at destination, the dispatcher will apply STATCON 95 or 99 with
a note in the remarks section of the OFP.
The Captain may decide to load Extra Fuel (ADJUST) as needed, following the known EXTRA FUEL REASON report process.

Prior to leaving the briefing room, please make a careful check of the license validity for both
pilots, irrespective of whether they are supporting the ALC or under check. The main areas that
must be checked include:
License has been signed by the holder.
License Proficiency check (LPC) has been correctly annotated. For the new (red) license the
LPC should be valid for a year (or 13 months if the LPC was conducted in the month prior to
validity). The old license Certificate of Test card combines the validity of both the OPC and LPC
and therefore should display a 6 month validity (7 months if the check was conducted in the
month prior to validity)
During an Annual Line Check, an appropriate opportunity shall be found to confirm satisfactory
knowledge of aircraft limitations, memory items, and discuss the topics listed in the table below:
